Registration for this year's Baltic Security Conference 2024, the largest organizational security event in the Baltics, opened in late autumn and will take place this spring on 11 April in Riga. The conference is organized by the Security Professionals Association (SPA), which is organizing the event for the third year. Māris Baltbergs, a businessman and member of the Association, informs that, as always, the content of the conference is based on a thorough consideration of the topicality of the issues and the problems facing the industry, but this year the event has taken on a different dimension in terms of the geography of the speakers, the size of the exhibition, the planned participants and the demonstrations.
The theme of the 2024 conference is Effective Security Management.
In addition to the guest speaker sessions on the usual security topics - physical and technical security, cyber and information security, occupational health and safety, fire safety and civil protection - new topics that have recently become very relevant for both organizations and the private sector will also be covered - financial and telecommunications fraud, general crisis management.
The conference is an opportunity to learn about local and global trends in security, says Mr Baltbergs. "I would like to emphasize the opportunity to meet other experts in the field and learn from local experiences. Not everyone has practical skills in emergency situations or in investigating these situations. The conference offers the opportunity to combine the practical and the theoretical, to explore scenarios and solutions. This year we plan to invite 16 guest speakers from 8 countries to the stage and we expect that the topics will highlight the main topics of discussion and exchange of experiences among the visitors throughout the day," says Baltberg.
This year, the organizing team is committed to taking the event to a new level. The 2024 conference will feature more than twice as wide and diverse a range of exhibitors - more than 100 stands from manufacturers, companies and institutions from Latvia, Europe and America. They will showcase innovative security solutions from leading security companies and service providers.
To promote the diversity of security studies and the sector as a career path, the conference will also bring together a number of educational institutions with a wide range of security degree programs for aspiring security professionals. In addition, and for the first time, the same hall will also be dedicated to an impressive area for demonstration or Workshop sessions.
